Project Overview:
This position supports the development of advanced clean energy capabilities, with a focus on high-tech initiatives including digital twins, data analytics, immersive visualizations, large-scale power grid simulators, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and forecasting tools. The Project Engineer will assist project leads and external contractors in managing, coordinating, and administering various aspects of high-tech energy-related projects.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
•Support project administration and oversight following internal guidelines and procedures.
•Perform a range of project management tasks, including cost and budget control and schedule development/maintenance.
•Review and distribute technical documentation relevant to project development and implementation.
•Assist engineering teams with administrative duties and provide oversight as needed.
•Ensure that systems and equipment meet design, procurement, implementation, and operational requirements.
•Coordinate technical review of system and equipment drawings among internal staff, vendors, and consultants.
•Assist in managing review feedback from various departments to keep the project on schedule.
•Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
•Schedule and lead project meetings, take and distribute meeting notes, and maintain organized documentation.
•Conduct cost studies and cost-benefit analyses to maintain financial compliance.
•Support out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to innovative problem solving.
Required Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
•At least 5 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in project management.
•Strong background in managing high-tech projects such as:
•Immersive visualizations
•Hardware-in-the-loop simulation
•Load and weather forecasting
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook) and project management tools.
•Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and SAP.
•Understanding of advanced project management and contract administration practices.
•General technical knowledge of electric power systems and modeling.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Education & Certifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required).
•Project management training or certification is a plus.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $42.58 - $45.26 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
