Overview Project Coordinator I/II/Sr:
This position is accountable for leading and supporting the Transmission, Distribution and Substation engineering departments within Central Engineering and Construction departments. They are responsible for the successful delivery of the assigned program/project portfolio. This individual is responsible for supporting project level resource allocation, ensuring timely achievement of deadlines and quality of work. Projects/Programs are complex, costly, and consequential to the Companies.
Project Coordinator I: This is an entry level position and will work with direct oversight.
Project Coordinator II: This is an intermediate level position and will work with direct oversight.
Sr. Project Coordinator: This is a senior level position and will work with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities Project Coordinator I:
- Manage a portfolio of programs/projects that vary in complexity from low to extreme (degree of difficulty, level of risk, contracting strategy, stakeholder engagement) and in duration from several months to several years.
- Plans, directs, and ensures the successful management of assigned project portfolio utilizing the complete resources of the project management office and assigned project management teams.
- Works with internal Engineers and Engineering Firms of Choice (EOCs) to develop the scope of work and design documents for Transmission, Distribution and Substation Projects.
- Manage resourcing requirements for engineering projects, including assigning EOCs and ensuring adequate internal support resourcing.
- Act as point of contact between project teams, stakeholders and business partners to ensure clear and consistent communication of project schedules.
- Responsible for project changes (scope, budget, and schedule) are managed through the project governance structure that has been implemented by management.
- Proactively identify risk and mitigation plans, monitor project status, recognize negative trends, and project variances, and coordinates corrective action.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks and issues, ensuring clear and effective communication channels are maintained.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Supports special projects and initiatives – E.g. federal and state grant organization, EPRI engagement coordination, etc.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Accountable for leading and supporting grant related programs/projects within Central Engineering and Construction and the KY/PA/RI Operating Companies.
- Responsible for coordinating and reporting EPRI project/program activities throughout the E&C organization.
- The incumbent is a team player capable of working with management, Operating Company Sr Leadership, external agencies (e.g. Department of Energy), and individuals carrying out grant application and project execution activities.
- The incumbent must be capable of coordinating and influencing a wide range of functional organizational leads and subject matter experts across the process to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization.
- Must be goal oriented, action-focused, and self-disciplined. In addition, the incumbent must excel at project planning, organizing, communication (written and verbal), team motivation and delegation.
