Routine Maintenance Project Controls Specialist supports daily maintenance planning and cost control. The role will focus on cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting using SAP, ensuring the integrity of financial controls and work management processes for maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage the routine maintenance cost control process by tracking actual costs, forecasts, and variances using SAP and Excel models.
•Partner with maintenance planners and engineers to ensure accurate and timely coding of work orders, purchase orders, and time entries.
•Monitor and reconcile routine work orders, ensuring commitments and actuals are aligned with budget expectations and project priorities.
•Create and maintain cost tracking dashboards, including weekly and monthly reporting of spending trends, accruals, and forecasts.
•Provide analysis on cost performance, identifying risks and deviations from baseline budgets, and advising on corrective actions.
•Facilitate the monthly forecast cycle in partnership with finance, ensuring alignment between reported costs and business expectations.
•Maintain documentation for change management, supporting tracking of budget changes, scope additions, and related cost impacts.
•Support compliance with corporate controls and reporting policies, ensuring consistent cost tracking practices.
•Coordinate with capital project teams on crossover projects, ensuring accurate cost separation between maintenance and capital expenditures.
•Assist with audit and closeout documentation for routine maintenance efforts, ensuring historical accuracy and completeness.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent experience.
•5+ years of experience in maintenance or project cost control.
•Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
•Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing industries.
•Familiarity with Work Order and Maintenance Management processes.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
