PowerRise is seeking a seasoned Project Construction Manager to lead and manage all on-site construction aspects for critical electric utility projects in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. This demanding On-site
role requires extensive knowledge of utility construction practices, exceptional leadership skills, and the proven ability to effectively coordinate and supervise construction teams and subcontractors in a dynamic field environment, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Direct and manage all phases of on-site construction, from pre-construction planning and site mobilization through to commissioning and final project closeout, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Effectively manage, coordinate, and motivate construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely completion of all field activities.
- Rigorously monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure adherence to demanding schedules and budgets, proactively identifying and resolving any deviations or challenges.
- Champion a "Safety First" culture across all construction sites, enforcing strict adherence to OSHA regulations, PowerRise's safety standards, and client-specific safety protocols.
- Implement, oversee, and maintain rigorous quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring all work meets or exceeds stringent quality expectations and specifications.
- Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to monitor safety compliance, work quality, and environmental adherence, proactively identifying and rectifying potential issues.
- Collaborate closely and effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, procurement teams, and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and integration of construction activities.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with construction teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records and documentation of all construction activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and safety documentation, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven and verifiable track record of successfully managing and delivering complex electric utility construction projects (e.g., substation, transmission, distribution).- In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, heavy equipment, and safety regulations (OSHA) pertinent to the electric utility industry.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage, mentor, and motivate diverse field teams in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and project tracking/reporting tools.
- Must be able to work On-site in the Washington DC/Baltimore area and navigate active construction sites.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
- Significant experience with substation construction, upgrades, and/or maintenance projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety codes (e.g., NESC, NFPA 70E) and relevant utility standards.
