We’re looking for a
Project Communications Specialistto help elevate how ENMAX Power connects with customers and communities during critical infrastructure projects and utility initiatives. In this role, you’ll lead the development of proactive communication and outreach strategies that keep customers informed, engaged, and prepared for project activities that may impact them.
You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver consistent, clear, and customer-focused messaging through multiple channels, building trust and strengthening relationships with the public. Major Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans for ENMAX Power infrastructure improvement projects, prioritizing the needs of both internal and external entities
- Facilitate complex solutions for escalations ranging from simple (one department involved) to complex (involving multiple internal and external touchpoints)
- Develop and implement issues management strategies for transmission and distribution projects, working with relevant internal and external parties.
- Develop and implement risk management and external communications strategies for transmission and distribution projects within ENMAX Power.
- Provide on-site assistance, when required, for the preparation or dissemination of external communications.
- Demonstrates leadership, utilizing an entrepreneurial skill set, through conceptualizing and developing proactive communications and tools to support transmission and distribution projects.
- Provide immediate customer support for unplanned system incidents, as requested by the Senior On-call Incident Command Structure.
- Support the management and sustainment of information management tools and technologies for ENMAX Power, as it relates to all transmission and distribution projects and issues management.
- Enhance customer experience and aid operational efficiencies; providing technical coaching and leadership, as required.
- Track engagement efforts, including developing reports summarizing key findings and trends as they relate to outage management and customer experience.
- Assist with outreach efforts to create awareness and advocate for the customer experience, while monitoring customer sentiment and adapting outreach strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and own procedural documents to ensure consistency and compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
- Liaise with internal teams to collect relevant data to assess customer and business impacts for ongoing ENMAX Power projects, providing expert advice and managing the execution of required communications.
- Represent the business unit at re-occurring or one-time cross-functional meetings.
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications and or another public relations field with an emphasis on strategic planning and writing
- Strong technical writing skills and a demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Press Style
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and SharePoint
- Learn new technologies, software and programs is considered an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of project coordination is considered an asset
- Knowledge of the Alberta Electric Industry and Calgary Electric System is considered an asset
- Exceptional communication skills; experienced and effective in interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Credible, persuasive and clear in both oral and written presentations
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize key tasks and deadlines to achieve required results
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple demands and projects simultaneously
- Work in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities
- Diffuse difficult situations when dealing with customer escalations

Salary:
Communications Level B/C (Current CUPE 2025 rates)
$86,850.76 - $92,266.54 - $97,702.15 - $103,117.92 - $108,553.54
Location:
This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
