The Production Welder under general supervision, uses specified welding equipment to assist and support manufacturing operations of parts and assemblies as required meeting regulatory requirements.
- Pay Rate: Up to $32.00/hour on W2, depending on experience
- Assignment Length: 6-month contract with the high possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday | Start time 4:30 pm |10 hours per shift |Overtime available and expected |Max 12 hours shifts plus weekends
- Perform individual tasks and assist others as directed by management.
- Engage in various operations such as welding, cutting, brazing, hardfacing, or tacking.
- Interpret and understand work instructions, including prints, shop packets, and verification of all procedures as per the quality manual.
- Conduct manufacturing math calculations and utilize specialized lifting equipment.
- Perform post-work inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, performing welding assembly processes in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and policies.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Welding Qualifications: Proficiency in Pulse, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.
- Weld certifications are beneficial, though onsite weld testing will be conducted to ensure qualification to standards.
- 3-5 years of experience and certification in welding or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with welding equipment, including Short arc, Pulse, MIG, and TIG.
- Proficiency in overhead crane operation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in computer usage.
- Ability to review the quality of work against both visual and written standards.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings.
- Knowledgeable in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Attention to detail, particularly regarding batch numbers and traceability.
- Strong safety awareness and understanding.
