Princeton NuEnergy ("PNE") is a lithium-ion battery direct recycling and critical materials recovery innovator, founded out of Princeton University. At its core, PNE's patented recycling technology is based on a low-temperature plasma-assisted separation process (LPAS™) that does not damage but, rather, reclaims and repairs cathode material from spent lithium-ion batteries and manufacturing scrap at half the cost with significantly lower waste when compared with existing traditional recycling processes.
We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Production Supervisor to lead our daily manufacturing operations. This pivotal role requires a leader who is not only adept at managing people and processes but is also willing to work directly on the production floor. You will be responsible for streamlining processes, ensuring safety and quality, meeting production targets, and developing the production team.
- Performs hands-on production tasks alongside the team to maintain workflow and develop a comprehensive understanding of processes and equipment
- Streamlines the production process to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity
- Oversees the daily production workflow, including equipment operation and basic maintenance
- Ensures production stays on schedule and within the established budget
- Works closely with plant management to determine the optimal allocation of equipment and personnel in line with production goals set by headquarters
- Assesses production needs (e.g., equipment upgrades, overtime) and ensures alignment with budgetary and timeline constraints
- Collects, reviews, and analyzes production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Prepares and presents periodic production reports on performance, output, and key metrics
- Strictly enforces company safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a zero-accident work environment and compliance with full regulatory requirements
- Leads, mentors, and motivates production workers to resolve operational problems and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively participates in the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of production staff
- Serves as a key communication link between functional stakeholders and the production team
- Performs other tasks as required
- An associate degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency in both Chinese and English is required
- 1~3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting, with some exposure to supervisory, team lead, or coordination responsibilities
- Willing to work long-term onsite on the production floor, actively supervising, coordinating, and supporting daily operations
- Prior forklift operating experience is highly preferred
- Hands-on familiarity with production processes and equipment operation
- Demonstrated ability to increase production efficiency and reduce material loss through strong process discipline and problem-solving
- Proven execution strength, coordination capability, and resilience under pressure, maintaining composure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Understanding of budgeting and cost-awareness principles; experience in this area is a plus
- Comfortable working with data; ability to interpret production reports and identify trends
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the potential to grow as a team leader and mentor
- Strong sense of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement mindset
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and adhering to safety protocols
- This is an on-site position in Chester, SC
- Must be able to work Saturdays and flexible hours as production demands require
- Able to work on the manufacturing floor and wear personal protective equipment, including hard-toe safety shoes, safety goggles, gloves, and/or mask, and respirator as required
- Able to lift & carry 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Has visual inspection capability to assess production line equipment
