Production Operator 2nd shift
Note: 1 year of CNC operator experience is desired but not necessary
Hours: Monday - Friday 4pm - 2am
The Production Operator job will consist of starting up, operating, inspecting, proper shut down, and preparing products based on our customers’ requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Start up and operate machines following proper instruction
- 90% CNC Machines i.e. mills, lathes. There are some manual broches and mill.
- Ensure correct documentation for orders
- Operate and support work cell equipment
- Operate all cell equipment and diagnose minor cell faults such as defective or improperly functioning sensors
- Perform preventive maintenance processes
- Cleaning machines, greasing chucks, checking bolts, checking and filling fluid reservoirs, cleaning coolant tanks, etc.
- Troubleshoot process and machine problems
- Perform tool changes, offset tools, and gauge parts
- Change inserts as needed
- Gauge parts with production type gauges such as plug gauges, thread gauges and/or variable gauges
- Make regular and frequent insert offsets via CNC equipment
- Inspect parts to ensure conformity to customer requirements and document results
- Pack finished parts following customer specifications
- Fork truck operation
- Regular and frequent operation of Forklift to get raw materials, move finished goods and empty hoppers
- Follow safe work practices in all aspects of the job
- Expected to know and use Lock Out/Tag Out practices
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
The job may require to train on days, but this would be a 2nd or 3rd shift position.
- Basic math and blueprint reading experience preferred
- Adding, dividing, averages, etc. and ability to plot data points. Using charts to convert decimals and fractions. Print reading a benefit but not required.
- Basic knowledge of machining processes
- Basic knowledge of Quality Systems, such as ISO-9001
