Production Manager

The Production Manager will oversee performance and budgets in the Production Department. The Production Manager will report to the CEO. The Production Manager will work with all departments to ensure that all performance indicators are being met, as well as improvement in key processes. This position will also be responsible for meeting PSW Group’s sustainability practices and goals, reducing waste and optimizing energy consumption in line with environmental regulations.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the Production Department.
Lead, motivate and supervise production staff, ensuring all employees and supervisors are trained, follow safety protocols, and are adhering to quality standards.
Ensure production schedules meet customer expectations, production capacity, and inventory levels and on-time delivery of products.
Continuously evaluate production processes for inefficiencies, waste, safety hazards, equipment and process improvements.
Manage the production budget, including labor, materials and overhead costs, ensuring the plat operations within financial targets.
Responsible for holding Supervisors and Production Team accountable and for following SOP’s.


JOB DUTIES

Assist to keep production running and meet monthly targets for output, recovery rate, flux/gas usage, etc.
Reduce the cost/usage of consumable materials such as flux, gas, PPE, etc.
Troubleshoot and coordinate maintenance repair efforts with maintenance and production teams.
Responsible for weekly reports.
Monitor and control training and safety related activities.
Perform corrective actions, when necessary, for improved performance or process.
Conduct annual performance reviews in accordance with company standards and expectations.
Monitor/track supplies that are necessary for production to include all necessary PPE.
Perform troubleshooting of all processes and equipment for speedy and efficient improvement.
Ensure quality standards are kept up to date and followed.
Production scheduling, including job/material type, overtime, and downtime.
Develop budget for the Production department and control the costs throughout the year.
Manage ISO certification
Manage OSHA and EPA requirements and reporting
Development of new policies and procedures alongside other Management


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and upkeep maintenance software.
Understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other governing body regulations for industry.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Five years of experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
Five years of experience in manufacturing supervisory role preferred.
Three years of experience in a management role preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined spaces.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the time is spent in the production plant or warehouse center. The environment will include, working in the plant production floor where there is weather and nonweather related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer when in the office.
Prolonged periods walking around a foundry.
Prolonged periods of using a forklift.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
This position will require the use and wear of all PPE and safety equipment.
