Summary:
A Production Engineer in the oil and gas industry, particularly in the onshore sector, plays a pivotal role in optimizing the production of hydrocarbons from wells. As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency and productivity of hydrocarbon extraction from onshore wells. Your role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to implement strategies that enhance production rates while ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
•Production Optimization: Analyze well performance data, including production rates, pressure, and fluid characteristics, to identify opportunities for improving production efficiency.
•Well Monitoring: Implement surveillance programs to monitor well performance and identify potential issues such as declining production rates or equipment malfunctions.
•Artificial Lift Systems: Design, optimize, and troubleshoot artificial lift systems such as rod pumps, gas lift, and electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) to maximize production from onshore wells.
•Reservoir Management: Collaborate with reservoir engineers to understand reservoir behavior and implement strategies for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery.
•Workover and Intervention: Plan and oversee workover operations to restore or enhance production from existing wells, including perforation, stimulation, and equipment repair or replacement.
•Production Chemistry: Monitor and manage production chemistry issues such as scale deposition, corrosion, and emulsion formation to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
•Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to mitigate operational risks.
•Cost Management: Optimize production operations to minimize operating expenses while maximizing production revenue.
•Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction through innovation and best practices implementation.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on onshore operations.
•Experience with artificial lift design and optimization techniques.
•Familiarity with HSE regulations and industry best practices.
•Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles and production operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working with onshore drilling and production facilities preferred.
•Demonstrated track record of optimizing production and implementing cost-effective solutions.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements: (with or without reasonable accommodation)
•This is largely a sedentary role. The employee is regularly required to talk or listen, and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, and reach with arms. Close visual acuity is needed for viewing a computer, reading, transcribing, and analyzing data.
•Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
•Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard
Benefits:
•Annual Bonus Eligibility
•100% Employer covered health insurance premiums.
•401K with 4% employer match
