The Production Engineer plays a crucial role in our upstream oil & gas company by optimizing production operations, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards. This role directly impacts the company's profitability, operational effectiveness, and ability to meet production targets. The Production Engineer collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for improvement, implement innovative solutions, and drive continuous optimization of production processes.

The Production Engineer is responsible for optimizing production operations, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards in our upstream oil & gas company.
• Draft well work procedures, Authorization for Expenditures (AFE’s), and economics assessments.
• Manage workover and plug & abandonment (P&A) programs, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Track Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) and conduct lookback evaluations.
• Oversee flowback operations, manage new well turn-ons, and conduct analysis of production data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Engineer, design, and plan artificial lift for new well installation and work with field operations personnel to ensure successful implementation.
• Develop and execute production enhancement strategies, including well optimization, artificial lift design changes, and production surveillance.
• Conduct reservoir engineering studies and analyses to optimize well performance and maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
• Perform economic evaluations and cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-making and investment prioritization.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, environmental regulations, and company policies in all production operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving operational challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support asset development planning, reservoir management, and field optimization initiatives.
• Liaise with external midstream groups to facilitate takeaway operations.
• Contribute to the development of best practices, standard operating procedures, and training programs to enhance efficiency and consistency in production operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in production engineering or related roles in the upstream oil & gas industry (DJ Basin experience a plus).
• Experience with gas lifts and rod pump systems.
• Basic understanding of coil tubing drill out and fracking operations.
• Proficiency in managing workover and P&A programs.
• Experience with production optimization, artificial lift design, jet pumps, plunger lifts and reservoir engineering analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for production operations.
• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in production engineering or related roles in the upstream oil & gas industry (DJ Basin experience preferred).
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
• Ability to legally work in the US without sponsorship
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $109,200-$176,300 annually in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

This position is located Denver, Colorado. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location. No relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.
This position operates in an office environment. This entails working inside in an office space wherein employee may be provided a public work station (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, the role will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
This is a full-time position. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule. Typical work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on working Fridays. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to onsite locations.
