The Product Manager for Roots is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of products. This role ensures that product initiatives align with business objectives while meeting all applicable regulatory, compliance, and quality requirements. The Product Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial, to define product needs, manage risk, and deliver solutions that balance customer value with regulatory obligations. Success in this role requires a blend of technical acumen, commercial strategy and hands-on approach to marketing engagement.
- Sustain the Product Line: Manage the full product lifecycle, ensuring product health, profitability, and compliance.
- New Product Development (NPD) Support: Act as the voice of the customer (VOC) for the NPD
process, gathering and documenting market requirements to inform the long-term product roadmap.
- Literature & Technical Assets: Be responsible for updating and maintaining all technical literature, datasheets, product manuals, and the product sizing program to ensure accuracy and relevance for customers and partners.
- Actively represent the company in industry forums—such as trade association boards, standards committees, and code review groups—and collaborate with customers on technical whitepapers and submissions for industry conferences as needed.
- Establish a Top-Notch Training Program: Design, develop, and conduct high-value training programs for customers and internal teams focused on the proper use, application, and maintenance of our regulators, directly translating to added value for our customers' operations.
- General Technical Support: Serve as a product line technical expert, providing support to sales and operations internal teams and external customers (customer calls, RMAs, RCAs).
- Sales & Forecasting: support process to work with direct sales managers and channel partners to support the sales process and contribute to the accuracy of the company’s forecasting process.
- Channel Partner Development: Proactively identify, develop, and implement new strategies to grow and optimize the performance of our channel partners across various markets.· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or a Business degree with relevant technical exposure, or equivalent practical experience.
· Up to 35-45% travel required (primarily in US/Canada).
· 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Applications Engineering, or a technical sales role, preferably within the industrial, manufacturing, or gas-handling sector.
· Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.
· Experience in conducting Voice of the Customer (VOC) research and translating insights into product requirements.
· Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through written correspondence.
Work may occasionally require carrying presentation materials or product samples.
