As a Product Design Engineering Intern, your mission is to support mechanical product design, prototyping, and testing to ensure compatibility with specifications and requirements.
In this role you will be working with both our Engineering team and reporting directly to our Product Design Engineer. As a Product Design Engineer Intern you will learn about how electronic products are designed, built, and tested. We are a small team - and you will be a full member of that team, with all the expectations and opportunities that come with that.
This is an 8 month co-op starting from May 2025 – December 2025.
What you’ll be doing:
•Mechanical Product Design: You will create mechanical designs for electronic enclosures and fixtures that meet product requirements.
•Mechanical Prototyping and Assembly: You will prototype mechanical parts and create assemblies to test enclosures and fixtures.
•Electronical Reliability Calculations: You will perform reliability calculations and analyze the results to verify that PCB designs will meet product lifetime requirements.
•Inventory Tracking: Managing an inventory tracker to track and update quantities of mechanical tools and components.
•Technical Documentation: You will document mechanical design requirements, assumptions, assembly instructions, test plans, and test results.
•Project Monitoring: You will ensure product deliveries are on time with project schedule. Create and share meaningful information with the company about the status of project deliverables.
You should apply if…
•You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or integrated engineering
•You have an understanding of design for manufacturing principles and have experience working with CAD Software Packages, preferably Solidworks.
•You have an understanding of prototyping and the different methods you can use to bring your designs to life.
•You have strong communication skills. You value building your own understanding and the understanding of others and can communicate effectively within a team.
•You feel great when things are organized! You organize, document, and track things in an efficient and productive manner.
•You are able to prioritize tasks, enhance productivity, and maintain focus, ensuring that goals are met efficiently without compromising quality.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
•Daanaa’s compensation package is based on a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical salary range for this position is from $19-22/hour. This may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
