ROLE OVERVIEW
The Procurement Specialist will support procurement and supply chain activities for mining and business operations, including assisting with sourcing, vendor communication, contract preparation, and purchase tracking. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual early in their career who is eager to grow their knowledge of procurement processes and work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, project-based environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist with preparing purchase orders, reviewing vendor quotes, and processing requisitions
•Support contract review processes by organizing documentation and tracking deliverables
•Communicate with vendors to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and required documentation
•Help monitor supplier performance and escalate any delays or issues to the Chief Legal Counsel
•Maintain procurement records, including contracts, supplier correspondence, and approval workflows
•Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including project teams, global teams, site managers, and finance, to ensure timely purchasing and invoice resolution
•Ensure procurement activities are aligned with company policies and industry regulations
•Conduct market research to support supplier selection and cost comparisons, as required
•Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
•Up to 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related administrative role; internship or co-op experience welcome
•Basic understanding of purchasing and vendor coordination processes
•Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and procurement systems
•Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from the Company
•Fluent in the English language
•Experience in the mining, construction, or heavy industrial sectors is a plus
•Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP platforms, or contract management software
EDUCATION
•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
•A combination of education and relevant work experience (such as internships or co-op placements) may be considered in lieu of a completed degree
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
•Occasional in-state, out-of-state, and out-of-country travel to meet with suppliers or perform site visits
•Ability to attend and participate in meetings
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
