Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our manufacturing team specializing in fabrication, CNC machining, and waterjet cutting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and supports production deadlines. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operations, and the ability to negotiate contracts that meet the specific material and scheduling needs of our shop. The Procurement Manager will play a critical role in maintaining quality standards, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that all jobs have the necessary materials incoming or on hand to begin work as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
•Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with manufacturing goals, with a focus on fabrication, CNC machining, and waterjet cutting operations.
•Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and purchase order issuance.
•Ensure that material requirements are clearly communicated and that all jobs have the correct materials available in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
•Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing.
•Conduct root cause analysis to identify and correct inefficiencies within the supply chain.
•Collaborate closely with logistics and production teams to ensure timely delivery and smooth handoff of materials.
•Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to maintain quality and reliability.
•Oversee quality management processes to ensure materials meet required specifications and industry standards.
•Utilize JobBOSS² or similar ERP software to manage procurement activities, track inventory levels, issue purchase orders, and analyze purchasing trends.
•Coordinate with production planning to align procurement activities with operational demands.
•Analyze market pricing and negotiate favorable terms that balance cost savings with quality and delivery needs.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
•Proven experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
•Strong knowledge of logistics, production planning, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
•Proficiency in JobBOSS² or similar ERP/MRP systems is highly desirable.
•Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
•Ability to establish strong cross-functional relationships and manage multiple priorities effectively.
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on negotiation and relationship building.
