Opportunity Overview: Procurement Technical Specialist – Diablo Canyon Power Plant, Avila Beach, CA

US Citizenship Required

This is a contract role with a duration of approximately 12-16 months, at least through the end of 2025. Work is expected to be completed at customer’s site (Diablo Canyon) near San Luis Obispo, California.

As a Procurement Technicial Specialist you will be responsible for providing solutions to challenges associated with commercial nuclear power plant systems and components. Our civil nuclear business provides nuclear reactor vendors and utility operators with integrated, long-term support services and solutions spanning the whole reactor lifecycle, from concept design through to obsolescence management and plant-life extension. Safety-critical systems have been supplied to around 50% of the global nuclear power plants in service and we’ve been a key player in the nuclear industry for more than 50 years.

What your day-to-day looks like:

- Review, create, and submit engineering documentation.

- Collaborate with a multi-discipline team while driving to improve group capability on existing and new Nuclear Power Plant Technology.

- Contribute to multiple customer business units outside of immediate area.

- Working within project constraints to meet project delivery deadlines.

Current opportunity:

- Perform technical and quality reviews for the procurement of materials and services.

- Develop and maintain material masters.

- Analyze components and piece parts for safety classification.

- Classify Material and Services.

- Develop and maintain inspection plans and characteristics.

- Implement and perform cross-discipline review of equivalency evaluations and other engineering design documents.

- Create quality information records and Document Management System documents.

- Maintain bills of material and perform updates to the component database.

- Develop material purchase specifications

- SAP experience is preferred.

- Expected to operate independently, efficiently solve difficult & sometimes complex problems, review team members deliverables, and provide coaching as required.

What we need to see from you:

- 4 years’ experience in in related supply chain, nuclear power, or technical knowledge preferred

- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred

- 2-year Associate Degree in a technical related discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US is required

- To be considered for this opportunity you must be eligible to receive and maintain unescorted security clearance at a Commercial Nuclear Facility which requires US Citizenship

- Preferred: Prior unescorted security clearance authorization to work onsite at a Commercial Nuclear Facility
