Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of vendor management, and experience with materials requirements planning (MRP) systems. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating prices, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to support our fabrication needs.
Responsibilities
•Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
•Procure materials and supplies necessary for production in a timely manner.
•Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality service and adherence to contractual obligations.
•Utilize MRP systems to forecast material needs and streamline procurement processes.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand supply chain requirements and ensure alignment with production schedules.
•Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
•Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information within SAP or other procurement systems.
•Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory management teams to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Requirements
•Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
•Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with vendors.
•Familiarity with MRP systems and supply chain processes.
•Experience with SAP or similar procurement software is highly desirable.
•Knowledge of fabrication processes is a plus.
•Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
