YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, you will be part of the Hope Bay management team. This role requires a strong leader who will participate in the construction and manage the future ramp-up and operational aspects of the process plant. You will be a key stakeholder, collaborating with the construction team in the basic and detailed engineering process of the new Hope Bay Process Plant. Once in operation, you will oversee and be responsible for the Process Plant Department, including maintenance, operations, metallurgy, refinery, and assay lab, working closely with its members and other departments. You will ensure goals and objectives are attained, respecting Agnico Eagle’s company culture, health and safety, and environmental code of conduct.
•Participate in all process plant basic and detailed engineering activities along with the construction team
•Responsible for the yearly budgets and upcoming staffing plans for the process plant teams
•Review, approve, and recommend actions regarding staffing, compensation, development, and training of all future supervisory and operating personnel
•Prepare for the future ramp-up and start of production
•Manage maintenance, production, and operations activities of the process plant
•Analyze, approve, and implement the KPIs to be applied in the department
•Identify, administer, and/or recommend necessary training tools for plant management and personnel
•Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Recommend procedures and methods to improve employee safety
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline
•5-10 years of experience in managing a large and complex mining process plant
•Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
•Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude. Able to develop and foster a team environment
•Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures, and regulations
•Experience working in a multicultural environment
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment
YOUR WORK SCHEDULE
•Schedule is flexible: can either be 7 days of work followed by 7 days for transportation and rest, or 10-10, or 14-14; flights departing from Edmonton and Yellowknife to get to the site. It will also require off site presence for engineering with the construction team and consultants. Location and schedule might vary depending on business requirements and timelines.
