YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will perform your duties as a member of the Process Plant departments and collaborate with other teams such as Maintenance, Metallurgy, Site Services and the Mine. You will operate and provide expertise in all of the processing plant circuits and ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•Operate the stationary machinery circuits of the processing plant where required, including: grinding, gravity, reagent, CIL/carbon stripping, crushing, filtration, paste plant and process control
•Participate in shift changes with the incoming or outgoing operators in order to communicate key information about the condition of the plant
•Inspect the circuit to detect any abnormalities or defective equipment
•Replace the supervisor when needed
•Fill out reports and transactions relating to the work area
•Assist the supervisor in the preparation of job hazard analyses and lockout sheets for shutdowns
•Participate in the risk analysis process of new equipment and tools, formulating operational procedures
•Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•High school diploma, technical degree or professional diploma in mineral and metal processing
•A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience as a process plant operator
•Familiarity with the process control system and knowledge of basic principles and rules of safety while handling and using chemicals
•Mechanical knowledge is considered an asset
•The candidate must have supervision skills
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Work Schedule
•Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
