Process Managercore Purpose Of This Position
To actively supervise and lead the Process Operations team, ADR & Refinery team, and the Maintenance team, to safely and consistently achieve set production plans, meet quality standards, and comply to standard operating procedures, best practices, and defined processes.
Key Performance Area Core Responsibilities/ Measures Of Success
PEOPLE: Lead the team towards achieving set targets and goals
• Develop and communicate clear roles and responsibilities for positions on the org structure of the Process Operations and Maintenance sections
• Develop and communicate clear performance expectations and measures for the team
• Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to direct reports
• Develop staff, ensure that all required training is carried out as per identified skills requirements
• Team understands all KPIs
• Frequent coaching takes place
• Skills Matrix updated annually
ASSET OPTIMIZATION Operational Planning
• Provide operational level into financial budgets for Process Operations
• Provide operationallevel input into development of strategies, goals, and targets for the Process Department, cascade goals and targets down into the Section
• Develop, communicate, and implement weekly and monthly production plans to meet predetermined goals and targets
• Develop procedures, procedures, and systems for the Process Operations team
to enable them to reach targets and goals, and drive and monitor adherence to these
• Build and maintain sound relations with all internal and external stakeholders,
developing formal and informal links and cross-functional forums as required
OPERATIONAL/TECHNICAL EXECUTIONProcess Operations
• Monitor and control expenses vs budget and report back on variances
• Prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations and submit justifications for new equipment
• Monitor and report back on adherence to weekly and monthly production plans, including remedial actions to meet variances that may occur
• Monitor and report back on crusher downtime
• Review and signoff on daily execution reports communicated by Supervisors, including tons/hr, flow rate to pad, flow rate to CIC
• Perform daily work area inspections to identify, minimize and correct safety
hazards, ensure that quality checks are being done, and that equipment is properly maintained
• Plan and communicate weekly clean outs and pour schedule for refinery and
ADR
• Monitor and control the washing of carbon moving and stripping
Oversee the effective use and maintenance of the EMaint system
• Prepare forecasts for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance activities
• Develop, communicate, and coordinate an annual primary maintenance plan including planned down time and events that will take place at those times
• Generate and communicate a monthly maintenance activity schedule
• Generate, communicate, and coordinate an annual schedule of planned projects
• Monitor and report on progress of scheduled annual planned projects
• Plan and communicate a monthly maintenance schedule for refinery
• Develop and monitor a checklist for refinery maintenance
ADMINISTRATION & CONTROLS
• Conduct and/or take part in weekly safety meeting, daily management meeting, weekly staff meeting
• Carry out routine administration and reporting
• Administer and submit of salaried staff and Supervisor's timecards and time off data (Process Ops and Maintenance) weekly
• Targets, goals and objectives are in place and cascaded through the section
• Expenses actual vs budget for the Section are controlled with variances reported
• Production plans are met
• Execution reports accurately measure actuals vs plan with remedial solutions indicated for variances
• Adherence to all schedules and plans
• Collaboration within the department and crossfunctional is effective
• Reports are accurate and meet deadlines
• EMaint system is functional and used effectively
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
• Actively support Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems and regulatory compliance
• Communicate and adhere to safetyrelated best practices
• Ensure that the team adheres to safetyrelated practices and procedures
• Adhere to Industrial Hygiene and Environmental requirements and produce accurate documentation and reporting
• Communicate and monitor adherence by Process Operations to an annual
calendar of inspections and permitting events developed by EHS Manager

• Annual EHS calendar of inspections and permitting events is adhered to
CROSS FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
• Mine Engineering: maintain effective communication regarding mine plan vs production
• Procurement: collaborate effectively regarding inventory and the delivery of
supplies and consumables
DISCRETIONARY WORK (NON-CORE)
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks and raise health and safety awareness.
• Identify opportunities for improvement across the department
• Carry out other noncore duties commensurate with skills, knowledge and
appropriate level of work complexity
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
• May fill in for Site Manager if requested
• Authorized budget sign off: per the current DOA limit. May in the case of emergency, at which time full authority to acquire critical spares as needed
• Staffing: in consultation with HR Manager, authority to hire appropriate staff to
ensure skills and capability for the Process Operations and Maintenance sections
JOB & PERSON SPECIFICATIONSPREFERRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 10+ years of experience in Process Operations
• Bachelors is Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
• Evidence of strong leadership and coaching skills
STATUTORY/LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
• Valid driver’s license is required
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Climbing ladders/stairs, walking over uneven ground
• Moderate to heavy lifting
• Bend, stoop kneel, stand for long periods of time, and sit for long periods of time
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
• Advanced level knowledge of the crushing and ADR circuits and their related operations and functions
• Advanced level knowledge of company policy and procedures
• Working knowledge of HSEQ standards and requirements relevant to this area of work and its related operations
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)
