We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team. This role reports to the Process Lead/Project Manager. This position will be office based with occasional travel to site.
· Process engineering evaluations, studies for development of new facilities and practices/procedures for the new project facilities operation.
· Development of Ready for Operations deliverables such as commissioning plans and operating procedures.
· Perform process simulations and calculations at final stage of engineering (IFC), including hydraulics/line sizing, relief load calculation, relief valve sizing, control valve sizing, equipment sizing.
· Be able to review/check process calculations completed by fellow Engineers.
· Generate PFDs, P&IDs, LDTs, H&MB, BLTs at IFC level, alarm setpoint lists, Car Seal lists, utility consumption lists, equipment and instrument process data sheets, safety, and operation envelopes (if required), OPPSD and shutdown keys.
· Review and evaluate vendor quotes from process requirement and as required.
· Participate and contribute to working sessions for design and P&ID reviews, 3D models reviews, HAZOPs and other safety and hazard reviews within the PMT team.
· Update the process design basis and criteria for final IFC or as required, and to update the engineering deliverable list for process.
· Coordinate with multi-engineering disciplines, management, vendors, and with clients ensuring alignments within designs.
· Responsible to support I&C-Automation, Mechanical and Piping disciplines in process requirements for designs and in multidiscipline deliverables.
· Comply with Company and Clients Standards for Process Engineering.
· Support TEB’s for process requirements to ensure compliance.
· Provide support and input on multidiscipline documents such as LDTs, P&IDs, MSDs, BLTs, etc.
· Support Material Selction Diagrams (MSDs) with process conditions and requirements.
· Responsible for process technical design and basic process conditions in process facility systems such as production lines and pipelines, Start-Up Skid for recirculation stage, pressure and temperature conditions, winterization conditions, etc.
· Pumps, Compressors, Flare System, Heat Exchangers, Tanks and Vessels caculations at final designs.
· Bachelor’s degree on Chemical Engineering. Water System or Water Chemistry.
· 10 – 15+ years of Engineering experience.
· Industry experience on Oil & Gas, especially SAGD production for Bitumen or Heavy Oil (SAGD CPF, Well Pads and Pipeline systems, is strongly required.
· Other experience on Upgrader, Refinery, Gas Compression, Sour Gas Sweetening, Gas Dehydration, Oil Sands Mining, Tailings or Sludge Treatment is also an asset.
· Professional Engineer (APEGA PEng). Able to Authenticate Process documents and drawings.
· Analytical and strategic thinking to solving problems and technical issues.
· Good communication skills both in written and verbal in English.
· Strong commitment to teamwork and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from COOEC CA is required.
