BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate and conduct the development, evaluation, improvement and troubleshooting of new and existing processes and equipment for our plant located in Perth, On and other Canadian plants as needed. Support plant in optimization efforts and act as a technical resource to the plant personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Engineering and Plant Facility Evaluation* Interface with managers and operators at site, as directed.
•Maintain up to date files on processes of all plants and project schedule of all projects.
•Document and record any changes in plant processes, and inform Production Manager
•Troubleshoot both plant and customer problems, as required.
•Provide reports to Management as required.
•Research new equipment and technologies.
•Assist with project cost control.
•Maintain operating history by providing monthly performance data for process equipment.
•Process sampling and lab analysis to support troubleshooting and equipment performance history.
•Identify, justify and support implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Knowledge Sharing & Expertise* Provide technical information to local management.
•Assist in implementing new systems, as necessary.
•Provide support and direction to Production, Maintenance and Management teams.
Environmental Health & Safety* Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment in accordance with EH&S policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:* University (Bachelor’s) Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering field.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in a project or process engineering role, preferably at a mineral, or bulk material processing industry.
•In depth knowledge of both wet and dry mineral processing. Preferred experience might include quarrying, crushing, hauling, grinding, classification, conveying, packaging, storage and shipping.
•Strong working knowledge across all engineering fields with emphasis on mechanical and electrical in addition of process controls knowledge.
•Experience in all areas of project engineering, process design and plant management.
•Ability to work in both metric and English systems of measurement.
•Autocad 2D experience an asset.
•Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
•Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial.
•Ability to travel occasionally
