JOB SUMMARY:
The Process Control Engineer is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting basic and advanced process controllers. This includes supporting regulatory applications based on the Honeywell TDC, Experion platforms, and multivariable applications based on the AspenTech DMC platform.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Utilizes the Honeywell TDC Distributed Control System (DCS) and Experion platforms, along with advanced engineering applications, including the following:
- AspenTech’s DMC Plus and/or DMC3
- Alarm management strategies
- Abnormal event detection/real time advisory alerting
- Remote control performance monitoring
- Blending applications (or platforms)
- Develops and provides support for basic process control applications using application engineering skills such as point configuration, loop tuning, control logic development, and identification of process dynamics
- Maintains and modifies existing process control applications and operator interfaces
- Identifies and develops new control schemes to increase process safety, optimization, and reliability
- Assists with DCS system maintenance and troubleshooting working with Systems Engineer and/or Honeywell TAC
- Provides process control support during project development, execution, and startup
- Communicates and interacts regularly with Operations, Technical, Inspection, and Maintenance business team members
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience required
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing/operating environment required- Familiarity with the following computing systems/tools:
- AspenTech DMC process control software preferred
- Honeywell process control systems and engineering applications
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory and advanced controls of manufacturing processes
