The Pricing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Pricing Manager in maintaining and tracking customer pricing across various regions. This role focuses on data analysis, troubleshooting pricing discrepancies, and providing accurate and timely pricing updates. The Pricing Specialist works collaboratively with internal teams to ensure pricing compliance and profitability, providing critical insights to optimize pricing strategies.
The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Gather, review, and analyze system data to expedite pricing updates and ensure accuracy.
- Troubleshoot pricing anomalies and inconsistencies, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and analyze customer pricing data to support decision-making, ensuring alignment with company profitability goals.
- Compile documentation to support price changes and the impact of market fluctuations on customer pricing.
- Assist in preparing pricing analysis for current contract customers, providing insights and recommendations for optimal pricing strategies.
- Analyze data for discretionarily priced customers and suggest changes to enhance margins and profitability.
- Prepare sales data reports to identify profit opportunities and support internal and external audits of contractual pricing compliance.
- Collaborate with branch managers, account managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent pricing records.
- Communicate the status of pricing updates and issues to teammates and stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed of progress and resolutions.
- Represent the pricing department in cross-functional projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing processes.
- Contribute to the optimization of pricing processes by identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and customer contracts, maintaining accurate records and meeting all pricing deadlines.
- Support the pricing team in learning new procedures and tools to enhance pricing accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 0 -3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in data analysis and pricing management preferred.
- Strong analytical and abstract reasoning skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook) and familiarity with pricing or ERP systems.
- Strong business math skills, with knowledge of profit margins, markups, and pricing calculations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data to peers and management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to establish working relationships with management, branch personnel, and cross-functional teams.
- Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.
