We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Machinist with a strong background in tool and die work to support our HVAC manufacturing operations. This role involves fabricating, repairing, and maintaining die tooling and precision machine components using manual and CNC machines. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of machining principles, tooling processes, and industrial materials to restore and maintain equipment to exacting specifications.
Key Responsibilities
•Operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and saws to fabricate and repair parts and die tools.
•Perform precision machining operations with tight tolerances (±.0002") on both internal and external dimensions.
•Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to determine machining operations and tooling requirements.
•Inspect, maintain, and refurbish tools and dies to ensure production quality and performance.
•Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators for dimensional verification.
•Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve tooling and part fabrication challenges.
•Provide recommendations to improve manufacturing efficiency and tool longevity.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
•Maintain and report accurate measurements and documentation related to part quality and process parameters.
•Assist in tooling and equipment setup for production operations when needed.
Required Technical Skills
•Experience in manual machining (lathe, mill, grinder).
•Proven knowledge of Tool & Die fabrication and repair, with experience in HVAC-related manufacturing preferred.
•Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T specifications.
•Skilled in using precision measurement tools to verify tolerances and part fit.
•Knowledge of tooling for stamping presses, die maintenance, and process control.
•Basic CNC machine operation and programming knowledge (preferred).
•Familiar with material properties and heat treatment processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
•High School Diploma or GED required; formal machinist or tool & die apprenticeship training preferred.
•Minimum 5+ years of relevant machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Must own basic machinist tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.
•Strong understanding of shop math and machining formulas.
•AutoCAD or similar CAD software knowledge is a plus.
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Able to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
