Job Summary
The Portfolio Manager plays a vital role within the Land Acquisition team in the Development department at Urban Grid, a premier developer of large-scale solar and storage projects. In this dynamic position, you will oversee portfolio management activities, monitor and report on vital performance indicators (KPIs), maintain data integrity within Salesforce, and act as the main liaison between the Land Acquisition team and other key departments such as Development, Commercial, Legal, Engineering, and Operations. This position emphasizes data management, progress tracking, and the communication of essential real estate milestones, while also facilitating the development of tools for enhanced cross-functional visibility and coordination, shifting the focus away from legal document maintenance.
Responsibilities•Maintain and update comprehensive data on land acquisition activities, including project statuses, timelines, and milestones
•Ensure all land acquisition data is accurately uploaded and maintained in Salesforce, adhering to company standards
•Track and relay digital data to the GIS team for spatial analysis and mapping integration
•Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize week-to-week progress and portfolio performance
•Track key real estate milestones, including option expirations, key unique provisions, and no-go areas, ensuring timely updates and documentation
•Communicate critical milestones and deadlines to relevant stakeholders across Development, Commercial, Legal, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and proactive decision-making
•Maintain a centralized repository of milestone data in Salesforce and provide regular updates through reports or dashboards
•Define, monitor, and report on KPIs for the Land Acquisition team to measure efficiency, progress, and success
•Generate regular reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to communicate team progress, including real estate milestone status, to leadership and stakeholders
•Analyze data trends to identify bottlenecks or opportunities for process improvements
•Act as the single point of contact for the Land Acquisition team, fielding inbound requests from Development, Commercial, Legal, Engineering, and Operations teams
•Facilitate communication and collaboration between the Land Acquisition team and other departments to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and milestones
•Provide timely and accurate data or updates, including milestone-related information, to support decision-making across the organization
•Facilitate and build out land team tools to enable visibility into the land acquisition process and status for cross-functional usage, ensuring accessibility and usability for stakeholders
•Be the primary stakeholder for the land function to build and integrate systems to utilize corporate enterprise software (Salesforce, ESRI), ensuring seamless data flow and functionality
•Collaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and maintain tools that enhance transparency and streamline communication of land acquisition progress and milestones
•Support training and adoption of these tools across relevant departments to ensure consistent use and data accuracy
•Ensure consistent documentation and adherence to workflows for land acquisition processes, including milestone tracking
•Identify opportunities to streamline data management, milestone tracking, and reporting processes to enhance team efficiency
•Support the implementation of new tools or systems to improve portfolio management and milestone communication
•Other duties as assigned
Location
: Houston, TX. Hybrid working is acceptable for this role. Position may require periodic trips to support business needs.
Requirements•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Management, Real Estate, or a related field
•2+ years of experience in portfolio management, project coordination, or data administration, preferably in real estate, renewable energy, or a related industry
•Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for data entry, reporting, and dashboard creation
•Strong analytical skills with experience in developing and tracking KPIs and generating actionable reports
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and publication or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS Dashboards)
•Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams
•Experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly solar or storage development
•Familiarity with GIS systems and data integration for real estate or land management
•Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ESRI, ArcGIS, Google Maps) is a plus
•Knowledge of land acquisition processes, real estate portfolio management, and key real estate milestones (e.g., option expirations, provisions, no-go areas)
•Experience developing or implementing tools for process visibility or cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Salesforce or ESRI integration
•Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
