Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled PLC Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and instrumentation (E & I) systems, with proficiency in programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLC). This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our automated systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
•Install, configure, and maintain PLC systems and associated hardware.
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to distributed control systems.
•Read and interpret schematics to diagnose equipment malfunctions.
•Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement system improvements.
•Provide field service support for PLC installations and maintenance.
•Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems.
•Document all service activities, including repairs and modifications made to equipment.
•Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients regarding technical issues.
Requirements
•Proven experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
•Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems (E & I).
•Familiarity with Calypso software for system diagnostics.
•Proficient in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical schematics.
•Experience with distributed control systems is a plus.
•Mechanical knowledge to assist in the understanding of system operations.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
•Excellent customer service skills to effectively interact with clients.
•Military experience is considered an asset but not mandatory.
