The Plant & Project Engineer Manager
will plan and direct all engineering contractors and management personnel working on specific projects.
This position will report to the Executive V.P. of Operations and will be located in the Woodlands, Texas.
o Develop and manage project scope of work (SOW) within time & cost, identify and assess contractors, and report project progress.
o Manage & Lead capital improvement projects focused on plant processes improvement, debottlenecking, expansion and equipment upgrades.
o Manage projects and contractors to meet timeframes, budgets, and forecasts from bidding through completion and start-up.
o Participate in projects for plant expansion, increased capacity, and equipment renovation.
o Analyze existing plant processes and equipment performance to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
o Lead process optimization initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
o Participate in Hazards and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) to ensure safe and efficient operations
o Lead efforts to upgrade and maintain equipment reliability, including recommending modifications or replacements
o Recommend modifications and/or upgrades or replacements to enhance performance
o Conduct tests, audits, and performance evaluations on processes and equipment; summarize results and suggest corrective actions
o Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processes and equipment use and maintenance
o Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles such as 5S, TPM, and JIT.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like equipment uptime, production yield, and defect rates to assess improvement success
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration of process improvements within overall plant operations.
o Train and mentor plant personnel on new processes, equipment operation, and safety standards.
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical /Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university.
· Must possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering.
· Must possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience managing deliverables/scopes of projects performed by contractors.
· Must be capable of reviewing piping and instrumentation drawings.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
· Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
· Base location will be office in the woodlands, along with regular visit to plant in Crockett
