Job Description
This role provides direction for overall safe and efficient operation of the fuel manufacturing plant. The position manages and directs production, maintenance, shipping/receiving, quality, safety, and profit and loss for the facility, using best practices to drive increased productivity and efficiency.
Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilties
•Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, shipping/receiving, quality, finance, and customer service.
•Coordinate schedule and daily production with senior staff members to meet quality and volume targets.
•Monitor equipment performance and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs.
•Coordinate planning and scheduling of production requirements (people & equipment) to support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecast to meet customer’s needs.
•Identify, assess, prioritize, and resolve production, maintenance, quality, shipment, and employee problems in conjunction with department leads.
•Drive selection, hiring, training, development, and evaluation of employees. Work with supervisors and human capital team members to meet staffing objectives.
•Coordinate shift schedules and manage labor resources efficiently.
•Ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations by administering and enforcing Company and Region policies, procedures and safety protocols.
•Conduct regular employee meetings, safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
•Implement and maintain site-specific safety programs. Ensure that the plant meets all EHS policies and practices at the site location and works with EHS corporate employees and Company officials to promote a safe work environment that meets all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
•Ensure that employees receive proper training and instructions to perform assigned job duties.
•Utilize appropriate resources and recommendations in community relations and legislative efforts and actively participate in the area’s community outreach and educational programs.
•Ensure product meets customer specifications and internal quality standards.
•Work closely with the quality control team to address deviations.
•Work closely with sales staff, quality control personnel, and customers to ensure that products meet customer needs and expectations.
•Work with sales on identification and elimination of customer issues and concerns to improve customer satisfaction and relations.
•Participate in developing an annual operating budget which includes production volume, maintenance expenses and maintenance of business of assets (replacement and critical spares) along with capital improvements.
•Maintain full P&L responsibility for plant production including the operating budget, production costs, and implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
•Maintain accurate production records, maintenance logs, and compliance reports.
•Provide regular performance updates to senior management.
•Manage plant production operations to ensure cost efficiency and optimal utilization of plant and equipment along with personnel allocation.
•Ensure that the site meets or exceeds operating budget.
•Drive plant’s short- and long-range business planning.
•Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and productivity.
•Compile data and provide information to analyze and recommend more cost effective and technologically advanced methods of production processes.
•Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical degree is required.
•Typically, fifteen plus years of experience in manufacturing or production in nuclear or other highly regulated industry, such as chemical or pharmaceutical, with at least ten years in a supervisory or leadership role directing a high performance, manufacturing team with measurable results and improvements.
•Ten years’ experience in the scheduling of the plant and staff workload while maximizing plant efficiency.
•Advanced Knowledge of and experience implementing safety and environmental rules and regulations.
•Advanced Knowledge and understanding of and experience with business planning and financial forecasting requirements.
•Strong understanding of production processes, quality control standards, and manufacturing safety protocols.
•Proficiency in production management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
•Willingness to work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
•Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, if necessary.
•Demonstrated detailed understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.

$168,375 - $280,625
