Position Summary
The Plant Manager will direct and manage the aggregate operations for the Walstrum facility with overall responsibilities for safety, environmental, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities. The position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for a safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product. This position reports directly to the Senior Director Aggregate Production Services.

Responsibilities* Manages an aggregates plant/site.
•Plan and direct the daily operations of a sand & gravel plant, including financial responsibility, supervision, and development of staff, production efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations.
•In partnership with local Safety and Environmental staff, continue to develop, promote, and maintain high levels of performance throughout the operation to ensure compliance.
•Direct production efforts in the most cost-efficient manner and maximize the utilization of equipment.
•Proactively troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and maximum availability.
•Execute quarry development and mine planning; ensure accuracy of all mine production reporting.
•Identify opportunities, develop strategies, and execute the plan for operational improvement.
•Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor plant costs, analyze KPI metrics, and oversee P&L activity.
•Lead development and execution of Capital Expenditure plans.
•Working closely with the area sales and quality control groups, ensure adherence to internal and external quality control requirements for all aggregate products, while balancing customer demand and production capabilities to manage inventory levels.
•Work with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure operational compliance.
•Work cross-functionally with Sales, ESH, Finance, QC, HR, Legal, CCM, and other related departments.
•Carefully evaluate training, coaching, and development opportunities for direct and indirect reports, in conjunction with area human resources staff, to drive growth and development of your team.
•Typically manages foremen and/or lead production employees with multiple teams of hourly production workers
•Ensures annual production and profitability targets are reached
•Has responsibility for the plant/site’s profit and loss (P&L)
•Ensures safety and health policies are followed
•Complies with environmental programs, guidelines and policies
•Complies with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations
•Oversees planning and scheduling activities
•Leads process improvements within own plant/site

Requirements* Associates degree or equivalent plant experience; bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred
•7 years of related experience; 2 years of supervisory experience
