Plant Engineering Director
The Plant Engineering Director leads a team of plant engineers embedded at multiple industrial facilities. These engineers serve as the primary technical resource for plant operations and act as the representative of the engineering function at each site. The Director ensures engineering support is aligned with plant needs, escalates equipment and performance issues, and reinforces standards for technical excellence, reliability, and accountability.
What you'll do:
•Direct, coach, and develop plant engineers across multiple facilities, maintaining a strong technical presence at each location with a safety mindset
•Ensure plant engineers proactively support operations with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring of equipment and systems
•Act as the engineering escalation path for unresolved technical issues, including both equipment performance and operational practices impacting reliability
•Maintain a direct line of communication between plant engineering teams and the broader Central Engineering group to ensure visibility, alignment, and continuous improvement
•Coordinate capital project development at the site level, including scope development, contractor interface, and post-startup evaluations
•Maintain standardization of engineering practices, documentation, and design philosophy across all locations
•Collaborate closely with site operations leadership, while maintaining functional independence and engineering integrity
•Monitor and report on asset health, operational effectiveness, and chronic issues, ensuring problems are escalated and addressed effectively
•Support reliability improvements, equipment upgrades, and long-term planning of plant infrastructure
What you'll need:
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or similar focus
•8+ years of relevant industrial experience with increasing engineering responsibility
•3+ years of engineering management or technical leadership across multiple sites or teams
•Strong team leadership experience, high EQ, able to balance collaboration with appropriate level technical challenges
•Demonstrated ability to bridge between operations and engineering functions, providing objective technical insight and problem escalation
•Strong background in equipment design, troubleshooting, and reliability strategies
•Familiarity with industrial regulations, safety programs, and CMMS platforms

•Compensation Range: $165,000 - $180,000 annually
