About the Role
The Project and Plant Engineer is responsible for all equipment installations, modifications, plant engineering support, and project engineering.
Responsibilities
Project engineering responsibilities:
•Experience with streamlined Project Management workflows and conducting FEL studies:
•Work with Engineering for capital project development;
•Project scheduling and coordination;
•Installation and debugging.
Engineering responsibilities:
•Analyze repetitive equipment failures and design solutions to reduce estimation of maintenance costs and evaluation of alternatives.
•Assess the needs for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs when due.
•Assess required maintenance tools and skills required for efficient maintenance of equipment.
•Assess and report safety hazards associated with all plant equipment (maintenance and production).
•Analyze equipment performance relative to production requirements.
•Implementation of designs or practice changes, through hands on involvement.
•Responsible for training full-time employees, contractors, and agency employees.
•Assist with other duties as assigned by Management.
•Work with the assigned Plant Maintenance Area to develop and recommend budget.
•Develop short and long-range operating objectives.
•Assures that training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated.
•Ensures that the Company's values, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering, and additional training in Project Engineering and/or Project Management.
•3-5 years of progressive experience in project engineering roles in a heavy industrial environment.
•Working knowledge of general plant construction practices, building construction, installation of equipment, etc.
•Must be available for emergencies and work off-shift hours, as needed.
•Ability to travel to other locations to assist with special projects and attend meetings.
