Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Other hours as required) 9-80 work schedule option available after probationary period or *4-10 work schedule option available after probationary period Position Overview:This professional position is responsible for engineering duties on mechanical equipment including rotating equipment and piping systems supporting the operation and maintenance of steam turbines. This includes planning, organization, inspection, recommendations for improvements and follow-up of repairs during overhauls
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineer I
Assists experienced engineers in developing studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides analytical support for consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Collects and compiles financial data for budget and actual costs of projects.
Engineer II & Staff Engineer
Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities under an experienced engineer. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects under the guidance of an experienced engineer.
Sr. Engineer
Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Frequently operates independently and seeks guidance when appropriate. Generally, is looked to be a team lead. Operates independently with minimal instruction from supervisor. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university (ABET). Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and design theory required. Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: None. ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code knowledge and experience preferred. Certified welding inspector (CWI) preferred. KS Professional Engineering license preferred for Senior and Lead Engineers. PE required for Principal Engineer.
Working Conditions: Power Generation Facility. Primarily office setting but working in field/equipment areas expected regularly. Occasional equipment inspections in confined spaces. Nights, weekends, and Holiday work maybe required occasionally to support boiler related work at the facility.
