Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Turbine Controls Engineer II. SUMMARY

The Turbine Controls Engineer II is a mid-level engineering position responsible for supporting and maintaining Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) gas and steam turbine control systems. This role involves complex troubleshooting, logic and graphics modifications, calibrations, and supervision of subcontractor work. The position requires extensive travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform logic and graphics modifications for MHI control systems, including logic uploads.
Conduct all control system work associated with combustion tuning.
Troubleshoot complex issues in MHI control systems.
Supervise subcontractor work related to MHI instrumentation and improvement initiatives.
Perform card calibrations on MHI control systems.
Calibrate MHI fuel gas, fuel oil, IGV, and combustor bypass valves (both field and controls side).
Connect and configure temporary monitoring equipment such as CABS, CASS, and CPFM.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on conditions, actions taken, and results.
Travel extensively (overnight travel required up to 70% by land and/or air, domestic and international).
Perform additional related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or 4+ years of related hands-on experience in lieu of a degree. Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, reports, procedures, and regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, teams, and leadership. Mathematical Skills:

Proficiency with concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Reasoning Ability:

Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, interpret diagrams and technical instructions, and apply logical reasoning in dynamic situations. Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, technical diagramming, and control system software. Experience with database and reporting tools preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear. The role frequently requires lifting up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. The work environment may include exposure to loud noise, chemicals, and high-risk industrial areas. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection.
