This position will work a hybrid schedule, working in office 3 days a week.
May have the option to work a hybrid 9 / 80 schedule (every other Friday off)

As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will be responsible all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns. You will maintain payroll-related accounts and is responsible for the reconciliation and accuracy of one or more accounts within a complex accounting system. Other duties include:
- Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure Safe Act Observations, Job Safety Analyses, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
- Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
- Prepares materials for external or internal auditors.
- Coordinate with Tax Service vendor to ensure timely filing of state, federal and local withholding and unemployment returns quarterly and annually for multiple entities. Balance and verify W-2’s for multiple entities meeting strict timelines
- Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns.
- Responds to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies, in researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
- Amend and correct previously filed payroll tax returns based on adjustments that have been completed.
- Provides the research, analysis and necessary reconciliation to respond to and resolve agency related payroll tax amendments
- Reconcile between SAP and ADP to ensure compliancy
- Assist with work compensation filing and year end filing
- Interacts with tax agencies, customers and other areas internal to IPL and Dyno entities
- Special projects and additional duties will be assigned on a regular basis
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- 4+ years experience in a similar role- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Experience working with both United States and Canadian taxes preferred.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Experience with ADP Smart Compliance and/or SAP a plus.
- Ability to negotiate positive resolutions with customers and payroll tax agencies
