Waterjet West is a small business machine shop / job shop with 4 full-time employees and this part time role. We operate 3 CNC Waterjet machines that can cut any shape from any flat material. Our customers include everyone from giant Aerospace companies, large metal manufacturing companies, all the way down to artists wanting a small metal sign. We also operate CO2 and fiber laser cutter / engraving machines. We love creativity and the “maker” culture. Employees are allowed the use of our equipment for small personal projects like metal wall art, laser cut acrylic signs, engraved water bottles and more (requires management approval).

Job Description:

We are seeking a cheerful and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Customer Service / Sales Manager at our growing shop based in San Marcos, CA. As a small business, this role will cover a variety of tasks, involving handling customer calls and emails, providing the engineers with required details to generate quotes, sending quotes to customers, following up on quotes, generating invoices, accepting payments, and ensuring exceptional customer service. As the face of our company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our reputation for quality and reliability. Part time, 9am to 2pm. If growth continues it could move to full-time.

Responsibilities:

- Answer incoming calls and emails promptly and professionally and log them into the system.

- Assist customers in collecting the information we need to generate quotes.

- Packaging and shipping customer orders.

- Desire and ability to create enjoyable experiences for customers.

- Follow up on leads and inquiries to convert them into sales opportunities.

- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and customer service enhancement.

- Laser engrave water bottles, koozies, knives, to maintain our free gift inventory.

- Invoice customers, process mail, log bills and payments into QuickBooks, and scanning documents.

Requirements:

- High School Diploma / GED

- Fluent in English

- Previous experience in customer service or sales role in any industry.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a goal to have the customer smiling.

- Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and handle constant interruptions from calls and walk in customers.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office.

Optional / bonus skills

1. Quickbooks experience.

2. Sales experience.

3. Wordpress website experience.

4. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, or other vector program.

5. Experience with CRM systems (Zoho, Zendesk, MS Dynamics, Hubspot, etc.)

6. Experience in a regulated environment (ISO, FDA, USDA, etc.)

7. Maker skills such as vinyl cutting (Cricut or similar), 3D printers, CNC equipment, or laser engraving / cutting.
