The Packer is responsible for preparing automotive parts for shipment by carefully packaging products according to company and customer specifications. This role ensures that all items are correctly labeled, protected, and documented to maintain product integrity during transit. The Packer plays a key role in supporting on-time delivery and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Pack automotive parts into boxes, crates, or containers using appropriate materials to prevent damage.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and quality before packaging.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information, barcodes, and part identification.
- Follow packing instructions and customer-specific packaging requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packing area.
- Assist with staging and moving packed goods to the shipping area.
- Report damaged or defective parts to supervisors immediately.
- Support inventory control by recording packed quantities and updating systems as needed.
- Ensures accuracy in part identification, counts, and labeling.
- Works quickly and accurately to meet shipping deadlines.
- Maintains high standards in packaging to prevent damage and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates with shipping, warehouse, and production teams.
- Consistently shows up on time and completes tasks with minimal supervision.
- Follows all safety procedures and uses protective equipment as required
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing preferred but not required
- Familiarity with packing materials and methods used in automotive parts shipping.
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, work orders, and part labels.
- Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory and shipping systems.
- Knowledge of safety and handling procedures for automotive components.
- Experience with barcode scanning and labeling equipment (preferred).
