Outage Management Superintendent

Ready to lead the charge in power generation within a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) environment?

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on leader to step into the role of Outage Management Superintendent—a critical position responsible for ensuring that planned outages are executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to operations. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing team of outage coordinators, planners, and support staff to plan, execute, and continuously improve outage events across our generation facilities.

Operating within the regulatory and operational demands of an RTO (Regional Transmission Organization), you’ll play a key role in driving system reliability, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term asset planning. With a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration, you’ll align outage strategies with business and grid requirements—because in power generation, even planned downtime fuels uptime performance.

Relocation assistance is available for this position*

Develop and implement outage strategies for generation facilities, with future expansion into linear infrastructure
Standardize outage processes and lead long-range planning in coordination with plant leadership and engineering
Review scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure readiness and resource alignment

Support pre- and post-outage meetings and maintain real-time communication with stakeholders

Process Improvement & Compliance

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., RTO, PHMSA)

Team Leadership & Oversight

Manage staffing, performance, and development of direct reports

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Align outage schedules and resources with engineering, maintenance, and operations
Act as liaison between executive leadership, internal teams, and external partners

Budget & Risk Management

Manage outage budgets and resource allocation
Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies
