The Operations Technician is responsible for supporting and leading operational activities for Disa units based in Casper, WY. The position requires hands-on mechanical expertise, operational oversight, and the ability to manage equipment from early-stage assembly through full-scale deployment. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and thrives in both team-based and independent work settings. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, wearing multiple hats and contributing to many areas of business development.
- High School Diploma required, advanced degree or comparable relevant on the job experience and/or certifications preferred.
- 1-3 years of prior technician, welding and/ or assembler experience preferred.
- Lead day-to-day operations of Disa units, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of equipment scaling—from initial concept and prototype through shakedown, testing, commissioning, and full commercial-scale operation.
- Supervise the assembly, alignment, and system integration of equipment and subsystems.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain complex mechanical systems including pumps, agitators, conveyors, filter presses, valves, seals, motors, and auxiliary rental equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance routines on critical equipment and instrumentation.
- Document service, maintenance, and repair activities with accuracy and detail.
- Coordinate project tracking, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with Disa’s Operations Manager.
- Support operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure projects stay on track.
- Maintain accurate logs, performance metrics, and operational records for equipment and processes.
- Work closely with engineers, operators, and management to identify improvements in design, efficiency, and safety.
- Contribute to scaling innovations from pilot testing to commercial deployment.
- Train, mentor, and support junior team members on technical tasks and safety practices.
- Maintain Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and workspaces clean and organized, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
- Preferred experience operating small equipment (e.g., skid steer, forklift)
- Preferred experience working with pumps, agitators, conveyors, loaders, and filter presses is preferred.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
- Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
- Be reliable to showing up to work on time and regularly.
- Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude and safely operate, maintain, or troubleshoot industrial equipment.
