Position Summary
This position will oversee Centrica’s North American fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are properly assigned, tracked, insured, maintained and replaced as needed. This will require a detail-oriented team member who supports North America Operations, reporting to the Director of Construction. In addition, this position will develop and oversee programs for management and distribution of tools and supplies to include safety equipment and PPE. The storage, maintenance and management of these assets requires warehouse and yard space, which the Operations Asset Manager will plan for and ensure effective utilization thereof. This individual will also make sure the assets are adequately and continuously insured, and business risk is effectively mitigated. Requires a questioning attitude and a drive for continuous improvement, which he or she will use to find opportunities and recommend actions to improve operations and utilization. This position will oversee warehouse operators at Centrica yards and warehouses that manage equipment, vehicle maintenance, and supplies on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Accountable for scheduling regular maintenance, coordinating repairs, and ensuring vehicles are kept in good working order
+ Primary point of contact with 3rd party fleet services vendor, reviews and approves invoices
+ Ensures vehicles are registered, insured, inspected, tagged and in accordance with a standards for legal operation
+ Tracks completion of Monthly Vehicle Conditions Reports and in collaboration with Principal Superintendents and Field Operations Managers ensures they are accurate and timely
+ Ensures telematics are installed and operational in vehicles. Collaborates with Superintendents and Field Operations Managers towards proper and complete use. Tracks output of telematics and compiles reports for people managers and Operations leadership
+ Tracks maintenance cost, fuel usage, and mileage, evaluating cost of ownership for each vehicle and recommends upgrades and replacements
+ Collaborates with 3rd party fleet services vendor and Operations team to identify and procure new vehicles in a timely and efficient manner
+ Evaluates capabilities and performance of all 3rd party vehicle and equipment service and technology providers recommends modifications or changes as appropriate
+ Collaborate with Principal Superintendents and Field Operations Managers to make sure vehicles are stocked with required safety supplies and equipment and collaborate with Safety Manager regarding contents
+ Ensures compliance with DOT regulations
+ Same duties as fleet management
•Collaborate with Operations Leadership and IT to implement equipment utilization tracking and reporting
•Recommends ways to improve utilization of equipment and reduce rental costs
•Safety Supplies Management & Distribution
+ In alignment with Company Safety Policy/Expectations, assemble Personal Safety Package, timely distribute to new hires and replacements and document distribution
+ Work with Safety quarterly for any updates on company PPE package
+ Keep all company distributed PPE/work attire/vehicle safety in stock and manage distribution to all personnel/vehicles
•Company Tools Management & Distribution
+ Maintain accurate records of tooling assets, track location, assigned party, and ensure proper storage
+ Collaborate with Operations Team to identify new tool requirements, coordinate with suppliers, issue purchase orders, and request quotations for new tooling and supplies
+ Develop a program of standard company owned tools needed by position / crew / team and collaborate with Operations Leadership to support the buildout and supply of required items
+ Safety and
Quality: Ensure tools are calibrated and in good working order and in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
•Risks and Insurance Policy Management
+ Executes and manages the Company insurance program to include developing insurance strategies for each policy in the program, developing risk mitigation, reduction and transfer strategies, ensuring adequate levels of coverage for each policy, overseeing selection and performance of carriers (with assistance from broker).
+ Serves as the primary point of contact for all insurance claims, managing administration and reporting of open claims, and providing recommendations to Safety and Corp Operations on front line risk mitigation tactics based on claim histories and exposures
+ Supports Operations Team with preparation, collection, and distribution of insurance certificates and documentation for projects
•Operation Warehouse/Yard Management
+ Manage inventory for supplies and surplus job costed items, providing status reports to Principal Supers, Field Ops Managers, Development Team and Project Managers for incorporation into future projects
+ Management/Tracking/Communication of Material In and Out of NA Warehouses to stake holders. Provides reports and updates to Project Managers regarding arrival and distribution of materials including a summary report on the last business day of the financial month for Inventory Balance Sheet Management
+ Coordinates delivery of materials and supplies to project sites
•Managing ad hoc projects to advance operational objectives
Requirements
Education
•HS Diploma or GED required
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
Experience
•10 or more years of experience managing equipment, vehicles and resources
•Experience with corporate insurance and risk management
•Ability to develop processes and programs to manage tools, supplies and other resources
•Strong knowledge of process development
•Proficiency in MS Office suite

Travel
Limited 10-15%. May require occasional visits to warehouses and yards outside of Northern California for purposes of training new team members and quality inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Work is constantly conducted in a blend of warehouse, yard, and office settings. Will occasionally require driving and visits to project sites
Physical Requirements
This position is a mix of work in the warehouse and yard as well as at a desk working on a computer utilizing a keyboard and mouse. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
