Operations Analyst and Crude Settlements

We are seeking a detail-oriented Crude Settlements and Operations Analyst to join our energy trading team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate settlement of crude oil transactions, managing operational processes, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with commodity trading operations, and expertise in crude oil market dynamics.

Job Responsibility

- Execute daily settlement processes for Crude, NGL and natural gas transactions

- Reconcile counterparty, pipeline and trucking invoices

- Process physical delivery settlements and coordinate with logistics teams

- Manage month-end closing procedures and ensure timely settlement completion -Verifying all trades are entered correctly -Produce a daily and month margin and analyze what is driving the P&L -Be able to organize large data sets -Testing upgrades to our ETRM

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies

- Support internal and external audit processes

- Maintain accurate documentation for all settlement activities

- Coordinate with trading desk, logistics, and finance teams

- Resolve settlement discrepancies and disputed transactions

- Prepare management reports on settlement metrics and operational KPIs

- Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting

Skills Needed

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field

- 2-4 years of experience in crude commodity trading operations, energy markets, or related field

- Experience with crude oil markets and physical commodity settlements preferred

- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot tables

- Experience with trading systems (Workday, CXL and Pak are a plus)

- Knowledge of crude oil pricing mechanisms and market fundamentals

- Understanding of physical commodity settlement processes

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Self-motivated with ability to work independent
