Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Settlements Manager to lead settlement operations within the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) framework. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reconciliation of market transactions and maintaining compliance with CAISO protocols.
Pay Range:
$113,650 - $187,700 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Essential Functions
- Manage the end-to-end settlement process for CAISO’s Energy Imbalance Market.
- Interpret and apply CAISO tariff provisions and Business Practice Manuals (BPMs).
- Validate Settlement Quality Meter Data (SQMD) and ensure alignment with market transactions.
- Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies with market participants.
- Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance settlement tools and reporting.
- Monitor and implement changes to CAISO charge codes and settlement rules.
- Prepare financial reports and support audits and regulatory filings.
- Represent the organization in CAISO stakeholder meetings and working groups.
- Own, prepare and update internal and external processes and procedures.
- Lead a team through setting performance goals, providing training, coaching and ensuring team effectiveness
- Develop and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy market settlements, preferably within CAISO or another ISO/RTO.
- Masters in finance, economics, engineering or other related field.
- Experience with CAISO BPMs and tariff documentation.
- Familiarity with Congestion Revenue Rights (CRRs) and Market Operations.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Strong understanding of CAISO market structure, charge codes, and settlement processes.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated management skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
