We are searching for an eager Operated Joint Venture Accountant Summer Student. You will work with the Operated Joint Venture team supporting the completion of entries for financial cycles. You will gain valuable experience by being exposed to Operated Joint Venture Accounting, along with exposure to Accounts Payable. Your time with us will help you to gain a better understanding of how Operated Joint Venture Accounting roles function within an oil and gas producer.

This is a summer student position based out of Calgary. This position is full time from May – August 2026.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and act as liaison for assigned partner’s billings and accounts receivables

- Communicate with partner contacts regarding payments, as well as resolving disputes

- Make correcting journal entries

- Utilize the AR Subledger, CS Explorer, and other applications to prioritize and manage partner disputes

- Collaborate with Land, Joint Ventures, Operations, Master Data, Production Accounting, and Non-Op Accounting to coordinate dispute resolution, as well as correcting entries

- Assist the Accounts Payable Department with various initiatives

- Ad hoc Special Projects

Your Qualifications:

- You will have completed their 2nd year or 3rd in a Business Degree program (preferably with an accounting or finance major) and will be returning to school in Fall 2026

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Demonstrated desire to learn and develop their skills

- Enthusiastic and motivated

- Your prior experience in oil and gas is an asset
