About bp

As a leading global energy company with a presence in over 61 countries, bp is dedicated to delivering energy to the world, today and tomorrow. Across the bp landscape, we’re home to a range of brands across many areas of our industry.

For over 100 years, we’ve focused on discovering, developing and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.

It's an exciting time to join bp. From wellbeing programs to mentorship and career growth opportunities, we aim to ensure you can thrive – in work and in life.

About the One Engineering program

bp’s One Engineering Program is an early careers programme designed to create a pipeline of professional engineers who are high-performers, have broad discipline experience, a transferable skills-set, leading through the energy transition, and solving the most complex problems of today and of the future. Early career discipline engineers will build their experience through challenging development assignments, develop a toolkit of transferable skills for the future, and have a dedicated network of support to help them succeed.

This is a three-year program, with two 18-month rotations (at least one in the field). Upon graduation of the program, the expectation is that Early Careers are promoted into a professional hire role at the same location they were hired into.

About the role

Participate in the Subsea Future Squad, an agile team dedicated to identifying and enabling subsea technologies that add strategic value to bp. Serve as Subsea Future Squad SCRUM Master, leading weekly SCRUM meetings to update the ADO board, ensuring effective project tracking and team collaboration. Additionally, host monthly retrospectives to review progress and identify areas for improvement. Develop and manage the “Tech it Out!” newsletter, a quarterly publication designed to keep the subsea community and key stakeholders informed about Subsea Future Squad progress highlights, technological advancements, and industry insights. Conduct and plan Technical Risk Assurance Processes (TRAPs) for innovative subsea technologies. Collaborate with suppliers and internal bp teams to conduct assessments and presentations. Support lead engineers to perform design assurance and verify that the technology meets bp requirements. Learn and apply appropriate industry practices and bp internal standards to any new subsea technology that is championed. Collaborate with digital and talent supply teams to support and advance the “Bright Ideas” pilot platform, facilitating idea exchange between suppliers and bp. Assist in developing a subsea technology roadmap database to monitor the technology readiness level and progress of all explored subsea technologies. Collaborate with suppliers to gather and update data, ensuring the database reflects the latest advancements. Participate in TRAPS, design reviews, site visits and other project assurance activities for various subsea technologies. Coordinate logistics and planning for subsea technology events such as SWiG or supplier presentations. Support Subsea Future Squad team members on any task that can help complete early careers roadmap (Field visits, design assurance activities, investigations, etc.)

This role will be a part of bp’s One Engineering Program.
