Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Engineer II, Pipeline Integrity with pipeline integrity program management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!


Role Summary

The Engineer II, Pipeline Integrity is an intermediate-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise Buckeye’s Pipeline Integrity program.


Responsibilities & Essential Functions Include

Pipeline Integrity Program Support. Supporting the implementation of Buckeye’s Pipeline Integrity Management Programs (IMP), including but not limited to,
Evaluating and continuously improving Buckeye’s Pipeline IMP through the investigation, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies;
Selecting baseline and continual assessment methods and the required specific inspection tools based on risk assessments;
Researching background of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for program evaluation;
Reviewing pipeline failure and metallurgical analyses reports.
Data Integration & Management. Facilitating Pipeline Integrity data integration within Buckeye’s GIS or other applications.
Risk Management & Mitigation. Managing risk analyses and developing risk prevention/ mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement. Identifying and involving stakeholders (both internal and external to Pipeline Integrity) for key decisions and preparing Management of Change (MOC) work orders for pressure reductions/restorations or procedure revisions, as required.
Project/Program Management. Developing budgets and monitoring maintenance forecasts and expenditures related to the Pipeline Integrity Programs.
Department Support. Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
And other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
Experience: Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience.
Special skills: Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required.
Special skills: Proficiency with SQL, ESRI GIS, PowerBI, FME, Python, R, or other programming languages to perform data analysis is preferred.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to pipeline integrity management is required.
Travel Requirements: 10% travel possible.


Certificates & Licenses

Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer certification is highly desirable.


Other Skills, Attributes And Abilities

Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.


Essential Functions

This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.


Physical & Safety Requirements

The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
This role continuously operates a computer and other office equipment.
May require walking the pipeline right-of-way.
