Northwind Midstream seeks an experienced Pipeline Safety Advisor to join our Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory team. The role focuses on ensuring health, safety, and security related compliance and providing expert support to internal and external stakeholders across our expanding operations within the Permian Basin.
· Assess and support compliance with applicable safety regulations and/or standards associated with the construction and operation of natural gas pipeline systems
· Document findings and produce detailed reports, including action items for noted deficiencies.
· Act as a liaison between Northwind management, operations personnel, and contractors in order to implement EHSR compliance initiatives
· Participate in the incident reporting process and assume on call duties as required
· Participate in pipeline and field-related incident investigations and assist in the development of corrective actions
· Continually evaluate Company EHSR programs and procedures for effective implementation based upon field observations and task execution
· Conduct effective training for field employees and contractors regarding applicable programs and procedures as directed; Perform new employee orientations
· Attend operational and construction planning meetings to provide guidance on EHSR related topics
· Audit records related to pipeline construction, operations and maintenance, safety programs, and employee qualifications, including drug and alcohol test results
· Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Pre-Safety Startup Review (PSSR) related to facility design and commissioning activities
· Support medical case management activities; Serve as liaison with insurance carriers for claims management
· Foster positive relationships with regulatory authorities, agencies and service providers outside of the organization
· Actively participate in safety meetings to review HSE performance and policies
· Position is subject to being on call
· Ability to respond to emergency situations as required
· A college degree (B.A./B.S.) in occupational safety/health or related field and/or 5+ years of related industry experience
· Ability to act confidently to complete assignments and defend ideas or decisions
· Ability to think strategically and in abstract terms to identify solutions
· Skilled in diffusing tense or confrontational situations
· Proficient in basic programs and database applications
· Ability to work effectively as part of the leadership team to meet corporate and facility goals
· Strong communication skills for both verbal and written formats
· Accountability and willingness to accept responsibility for actions and outcomes
· Exceptional attention to detail in all areas of work
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to manage, direct, develop, and motivate staff
· Knowledge of gas processing, midstream facilities and pipeline operations.
· Demonstrated sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and/or where information is available but must be further analyzed
· Must be highly motivated, customer focused, able to prioritize, detailed, capable of multitasking, able to follow through on all tasks to completion
