Job Summary
The I&E Tech B is responsible for the inspection, testing, installation and repair of surface safety system and process control system. The successful candidate will monitor, troubleshoot and repair as necessary the process control, ballast control and safety system so to maintain regulatory compliance and production efficiency. The Instrument Tech A will work closely with platform Operators.
Responsibilities
Conducts training of lower-level Technicians in PSST (T-2) requirements.
Maintains critical parts inventory
Possess and maintain current technical working knowledge of digital communication protocols including but not limited to Hart communication protocol and Field Bus Possess and maintain current technical working knowledge of process control system including but not limited Delta V Process Control System
Maintains current knowledge of applicable MMS and USCG e.g.: AP! RP 14C and CFR 250
Ensure the facility concurs with Facility Safe Charts and Safety Flow Diagram as per MMS regulations. Updates and revises as required Facility Safe Charts and Safety Flow Diagram via Management of Change
Coordinates and carries out MMS Annual and spot Inspections
Coordinates, conducts, and documents the Facility monthly MMS testing
Reviews monthly MMS inspection re orts and takes corrective action as necessary
Performs all job-related duties assigned by immediate supervisor
Certifications/Licenses
All required Company and regulatory valid certifications
Lifeboat, Water SurvivalHUET, First AidCPR and Rigging
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience working on a Deepwater offshore production facility
Proficient in the use of computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required
Must have demonstrated the leadership qualities conducive to a team environment
Good understanding of production operations to include but not limited to the following:
Wells, Separation,
Gas Dehydration and Conditioning
Produced Water Treatment systems
Gas Compression
Chemical Injection
Methanol and Water wash
Gas Lift Systems, Oil and Gas Measurement
Electrical Power Generation
Emergency Power Generators
AC & DC electrical power distribution and protection
Compressed Air, Potable Water, Chemical storage, and distribution
HVAC, Telecommunications, and information systems
Marine interface including meteorological monitoring, mooring system, hull and ballast systems, navigation aids, transport interface including helideck, laydown and bulk transfer facilities, oil and gas metering systems, gas and oil allocation and export, flash gas, fuel gas and associated samplers and analyzers
Pig launchers and receivers, flight fuel conditioning and transport including methanol, diesel and aviation fuels, flaring, venting and drainage, firefighting and fire suppression systems, lifeboats, and lifesaving equipment.
Must be familiar with ABS, OHSA, EPA and USCG regulations applicable to production operations
Experience in supervising contract personnel
Ability to work a 14/14 schedule, minimum 12-hour day
Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year-round. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential, physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
