The O&M Site Lead Technician (not an installer position) manages all field level activities required to operate and maintain a solar site. This will include scheduling, repairing, servicing, maintaining, reporting, communicating activities and events needed on site. Site lead technicians should be very familiar with the solar industry and able to effectively run a site with minimal support.
· Maintain and repair inverters, trackers, and other systems on site.
· Coordinate with manufacturers for warranties and repairs.
· Schedule site personnel work schedule, PMs, and repairs.
· Manage and maintain on-site inventory and assets including tools and hardware.
· Ensure site safety and security. Report any infractions to leadership and safety.
· Order parts and materials needed for site operation and personnel.
· Log and record all maintenance activities performed using HEIS.
· Troubleshoot faulty equipment utilizing manufacturer’s support, manuals, and equipment specific training.
· Accurately report and relay information to supervision and site owner representatives.
· Adhere to all site safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.
· Perform site security and visual inspections of vegetation, facilities, and roadways.
· Coordinate with contractors and ensure they are adhering to good safety practices.
· Lead other technicians to accomplish specific tasks or activities.
· Perform all solar site activities not listed above to include meeting NERC and ERCOT requirements.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office software experience (ie Outlook, Excel)
o High level of electronic principles knowledge to perform advanced troubleshooting.
o Electrical testing equipment knowledge (multimeter, IV Curve Tracer, TTR, insulation resistance etc.)
o Proficient in repairing and maintaining tracker systems, inverters, transformers,
o Capable of performing substation and recloser switching.
o Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs
o Ability to navigate SCADA system monitoring and application
o Medium and High Electrical Voltage testing and safety experience
o Ability to mostly work in an outside environment
o Able to wear and safely utilize all PPE required to perform tasks
