Position Overview
The Nuclear Business Development Lead will oversee nuclear business development efforts and support the development of a broader market expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will have a background in nuclear energy development, engineering or operations, experience managing external relationships and eagerness to work with a dynamic team in navigating entry into a fast-evolving market.
- Lead nuclear-related development efforts, collaborating closely with internal development support and execution functions and external consultants as needed.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships relevant to nuclear opportunities and interface internally with legal, finance and other functions for successful outcomes.
- Lead technology assessment and selection in collaboration with engineering, sourcing and other relevant functions.
- Collaborate closely with origination team and other relevant functions on customer engagement.
- Prepare and effectively deliver presentations to the executive team on the status of nuclear development efforts and evolving competitive landscape.
- Represent Invenergy with industry groups, competitors, suppliers, customers, government officials, and other stakeholders specific to the nuclear industry.
- Significant domestic and international travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear energy, energy/utilities, engineering or other related sector.- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred with consideration for other degrees in conjunction with industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the US nuclear energy sector and/or nuclear technology landscape.
- Experience negotiating and managing partnership, consultant, and/or customer relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and ability to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties.
- Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally across the entire organization and externally.
- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to reside in Chicago highly preferred.
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
