Northeast Service Supervisor

Service Manager– New England | New York | New Jersey | Waterbury, CT

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our team! In this role you will report to the Regional Manager.

Scope of the Role includes:

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of the Service Department, and to manage a cohesive department of Billers, Dispatchers, and Technicians. The Service Manager is to provide supervision and guidance for all in house staff and field personnel. Essential responsibilities will include:

- Oversight of all aspects of service at plants throughout the region on areas of safety, plant maintenance, compliance

- Collaborating with other departments, managers, and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

- Serving as the central point of contact for all service technicians in the region.

- Supervising the service department operations including technicians, service vehicles and equipment.

- Monitoring progress of service technician education including safety and technical skills.

- Coordinating all safety meetings.

- Monitoring all service personal to ensure all comply with company policies and procedures, safety rules, union policies, and government regulations

- Conducting investigations in cooperation with the Safety Department to determine causes of service accidents and improve safety procedures inclusive of investigations and resolution of customer complaints, property, vehicle and/or personal injury claims

- Oversight of service technicians work product ensuring consistency with organizational objectives.

- Coaching and reinforcement inclusive of counseling and disciplining employees as needed.

We’re looking for the following abilities and skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience preferably in energy services, environmental or other field based operations.

- Excellent skills with management and supervision including motivational skills, quality management, attention to detail, organizational skills, deadline driven skills, effective communication and conflict resolution skills.

- A valid Class C Commercial Driver’s License [CDL] with (HazMat) hazardous material Endorsement required.

oClass B CDL (with no air brake restrictions) preferred but not required.

Endorsement (N) Tank Vehicle is preferred but not required.

Endorsement (X) in place of (N) and (HazMat) is preferred but not required.

oA clean and safe driving record.

- License Requirements for Heating, Cooling (and Piping) (Any of the following):

oConnecticut Journeyperson (G-2) Limited Natural & LP Gas or (S-2) Unlimited Heating, Piping & Cooling.

- A Westchester County Trades License is preferred but not required. .

- Mechanically inclined skills sought:

oExperience with hand tools, power tools and test equipment.

oBasic troubleshooting, problem solving and diagnostic skills.

oAppliance Installation and Repair.

oNatural Gas or LP Gas Piping and Supply.

oPlumbing experience as a Journeyman working under a Masters Licensed Plumber.

- Proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).

- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Detailed work ethic, be enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful; effectively gets the job done.

- Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and thoughtful manner with customers and co-workers.

- A passion for excellence with a customer service focus coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
